Introduction: In this session I will discuss the role of consumers in influencing the directions and priorities of systematic reviews within the Cochrane Collaboration and will be discussing some current models of consulting with consumers about topics for research and Cochrane reviews, and will also look at some of the ways in which cultural, political and socio-economic factors impact on consumers' priorities and their ability to participate in health related decisions.
