Abstract
Introduction: Some countries are so poor that the majority of the population have no hope of accessing the kind of care that participants at this Colloquium-whatever country they come from-expect for themselves and their families. As what we do is reflected by what we are, the constituency of the Collaboration therefore creates a potential bias in reviewing. It may influence the topics we choose, the way we present the problem, the outcomes we seek, and our interpretation. In particular, whether people in developing countries use the information depends on how they perceive its relevance, and whether it is accessible to an international audience working in a variety of health care settings. This presentation considers practical ways of improving the relevance of reviews for people working in less developed countries.
