Abstract
Objectives: This is a training workshop specifically designed for those people who are currently using MeerKat to manage their Specialized Registers.

Description: This will be an interactive workshop where participants are asked to bring their own MeerKat problems and suggestions. Facilitators will demonstrate the main features of MeerKat at both the study and reference level, giving hints and tips on how best to use the relational database. Time will be allocated for individual questions or queries to be answered. It is hoped that participants will work together in solving problems and in identifying best practice in various aspects of MeerKat.
There will also be an opportunity to discuss some of the developments which have recently been introduced and will soon be available in MeerKat version 1.4. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss the introduction of a new Full-text Finder ('Ferret'), which can be used in conjunction with MeerKat, as a way of storing lists of reference sources and helping to automate the reference retrieval process.

Target audience: Those currently using MeerKat to manage their Specialized Register. This workshop is not intended as an introduction to MeerKat.
