Abstract
Objectives:
This workshop will explore dissemination and communications planning for several types of Cochrane content by sharing tools and strategies for establishing the best channels to deliver targeted information effectively. Cochrane and Wiley staff will aim to make participants familiar with concepts of dissemination planning, and with identifying communications channels and audiences to maximize impact.

Description:
The Cochrane 'Strategy to 2020' has made improving dissemination of, and advocacy for, Cochrane content priorities for the future for the organisation and its partners. Getting information to the right audiences at the right time through targeted dissemination and communication is essential to raising awareness and improving access.

This workshop will provide the opportunity to explore dissemination and communication planning in a supported environment. Cochrane and Wiley staff will present information about tools and strategies for effective dissemination and communication, and share examples of successful dissemination and communication initiatives developed by Cochrane contributors. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on exercises to develop dissemination and communication plans. Upon completion, participants will have a better understanding of how to develop effective dissemination and communication plans, and of resources available to assist in this work.
