Abstract
Objectives:
The purpose of this workshop is to provide a forum for Managing Editors and Assistant Managing Editors to discuss the use of workflow reports in Archie and to evaluate and improve their Cochrane Review Group’s (CRG's) editorial processes and provide data for their funding bodies.
Description:
This will be an interactive workshop focusing on how to get practical information from the workflow reports available in Archie. Now that CRGs are using workflows on a day-to-day basis, these workflow reports can provide valuable information that can be used to evaluate and improve editorial processes. Such data are likely to be critically important as CRGs seek to make ‘evidence-based’ decisions about how best to meet the Strategy to 2020 target of reducing review production time by 30%. The workflow reports can also provide important data needed for funding reports.
The workshop will combine a demonstration and discussion so that ideas can be shared across other groups. Another aim will be to collate suggestions for making improvements to the workflow reports, which will be fed back to the Cochrane Informatics and Knowledge Management Department for consideration and possible implementation.
