Abstract
Objectives: To help Cochrane Review Group (CRG) editorial teams understand and apply the Cochrane Updating Classification System to Cochrane Reviews.
Description: The Cochrane Updating Classification System aims to inform readers about whether a Cochrane Review is up-to-date, likely to be updated in future, or does not need updating at the current time. The system will also help CRGs prioritise individual Cochrane Reviews. The system has four parameters: relevance (is the question current or historical); update status; reason for selecting the update status; and a free-text section to explain the relevance and status. During the workshop, we will look at examples of how to reach a decision when applying the system, how to apply the system in Archie, the relationship with publishing events (What’s New events), and how the applied status appears in published Cochrane Reviews.
