Abstract
Objectives: To describe the process, share the successes and explore the challenges of running a James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership.
Description: Participants will be asked to reflect on what opportunities, if any, they have to influence research carried out in areas of health care that directly affect them. The key stages of a James Lind Alliance-guided priority setting partnership process will be described. Participants will experience a taster of each of these key stages with interactive sessions to consider how to identify 'unanswered questions' in a clinical area; who should decide what is important in research; what factors make a question a priority; how to translate questions into a format suitable for evaluation in a controlled trial; how agreement can be reached on a 'Top 10' of questions; and how to secure funding to find answers to priority questions.
This workshop will be of interest to people who would like to undertake a collaborative approach to identifying priority topics for research or systematic reviews.
