Abstract
Objectives: to provide an introduction to EPPI-Reviewer 4, an online tool for conducting complex reviews, now available for Cochrane authors.
Description: EPPI-Reviewer 4 is web-based software that supports the production of a wide range of systematic reviews. Alongside Covidence, EPPI-Reviewer is now available to Cochrane authors, and can support flexible reviews to accommodate emerging methods, non-intervention and mixed-methods reviews, or new methodologies. EPPI-Reviewer allows online collaborative review production, while making few assumptions about the review workflow. It supports the standard stages (deduplication, screening, quality appraisal, risk of bias assessment, data extraction and analysis), and allows the author to organise data extraction and synthesis as needed. EPPI-Reviewer includes text mining features to aid exploratory work, scoping reviews and speed up the production of large reviews, including machine learning functionalities to assist in screening multiple thousands of references. EPPI-Reviewer integrates with R statistical software to provide access to advanced meta-analytical tools such as Metaphor. In this workshop users will gain hands-on experience, an understanding of the underlying principles, and an opportunity to provide feedback. Please bring a laptop to participate in the session (Mac or Windows). This workshop will be offered three times during the Colloquium - please sign up to one session only.
