Abstract
Objectives: Knowledge translation of the meeting of international stakeholders (systematic review methodologists, reporting guideline developers, journal editors, Cochrane/PROSPERO database developers and knowledge users) that aims to reach consensus on the final checklist items for an extension of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analysis - Protocols for Children (PRISMA-PC) and Reporting (PRISMA-C).
Description: The lack of guidance for the pediatric-specific methodological features of child health systematic reviews impairs decision making in child health. We are currently developing an extension of PRISMA - Protocols for Children (PRISMA-PC) and Reporting (PRISMA-C). The project methodology follows published recommendations by the well known Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research (EQUATOR) group. Drs Offringa and Kapadia will chair a 90-minute special session at the Cochrane Colloquium to disseminate the pre-colloquium consensus meeting's findings. All known systematic reviewers that are active in child health will be invited to attend this knowledge translation meeting. In addition to disseminating knowledge about the need for a child extension of PRISMA, its protocol version (PRISMA-P) and the method involved in developing this extension, attendees of this session will be invited to offer feedback on the final checklist items and facilitators and barriers to its uptake.
