Abstract
Objectives: To contribute to the development and implementation of Cochrane’s peer review policy, learn about approaches to identify peer reviewers, how to manage Archie workflows for peer review, and learn about broader peer review initiatives in publishing.
Description: Peer review is an essential, if imperfect, step in the editorial workflow for any new research. There is ongoing debate about the role and value of peer review, and a number of innovations have sought to address flaws or inefficiencies in the process. For Cochrane Reviews peer review represents an opportunity for scrutiny of methodology and interpretation before publication. During the workshop, we will discuss the development of Cochrane’s peer review policy, which aims to help clarify when to peer review (including for updates) and who to use for peer review. During this workshop, we will review the policy and learn about implications for editorial working practices, including managing peer review using Archie workflows.
