Abstract
Objectives: To give participants information on, and hands-on insight into, the process of transforming evidence into clinical practice guidelines in the field of traditional Korean medicine.
Description: Participants will receive a brief introduction to the standard methodologies of presenting and interpreting evidence (for example, summary of evidence, GRADEing (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations)), the rationale of transforming evidence into recommendations for practice, and how to develop clinical practice guidelines for traditional Korean medicine.
Participants will then be invited to work on a practical activity. Using a predeveloped exercise sheet and materials, each group of participants will reach a consensus and make recommendations on traditional Korean medicine. There will be a group discussion about how to make judgments, how to address challenges, and what makes for good clinical practice guidelines for Korean medicine. Experienced domestic facilitators will be available to share their knowledge and provide comments on participants’ work.
