Abstract
Objectives: To give participants information about and hands-on insight into volunteering as a translator at Cochrane.

Description: Participants will receive a brief introduction to our ongoing translation projects, the content they can translate as volunteers, the type of skills that are useful, how much time they would need to invest, and the benefits of becoming a volunteer translator.

Participants will then be invited to work on a practical activity. Using a guided task and question sheet, participants will translate selected phrases and sentences from a recent Cochrane Plain language summary from English into their mother tongue. This will lead into a group discussion about different approaches to translation, how to address certain challenges, what tools and processes can help, and what makes a 'good' translation. We will have experienced translators from different countries available to share their knowledge and answer questions about their volunteer work.
