Abstract
Objectives:
1. To become familiar with different methodological approaches suggested to formulate research using systematic reviews to identify research gaps and needs.
2. To understand the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches to formulate research recommendations.
Description: The workshop will start with:
1. Introducing different methodological approaches to formulate research recommendations, followed by an explanation of how systematic reviews can help identify research gaps. We will also use a number of examples including a methods project evaluating the implication of research on Cochrane Reviews. Using a hands-on exercise, participants will identify possible research gaps from different systematic reviews using different models.
2. Participants will discuss the advantage and disadvantages of a different approach.
3. The workshop will end with a discussion about how to involve relevant stakeholders in this process.
The workshop is organised on behalf of the Priority Setting Methods Group, and Evidence Based Research Network
