Abstract
"Background: The process of the discovery and development of new drugs is long and difficult. With the rapid development and application of artificial intelligence, it has had a positive impact on the development and utilization of drugs. As the application of AI matures, many challenges have been solved. Several model frameworks have now been proposed to enhance the performance of AI-guided drug discovery process.
Objective: Provide an overview of artificial intelligence in drug discovery. And summarize the current research trends and challenges in AI-guided drug discovery process.
Methods:PubMed, Cochrane library, Web of Science, CNKI and CBM were systematicaly searched. Studies related to artificial intelligence in drug discovery were retrieved and summarised descriptively. Studies were manually screened and coded by two independent researchers, and any conflicts were discussed with a third researcher.
Results: The study is on going.
Conclusion: This paper summarizes the main algorithms for AI applications, and the main challenges faced. The AI-guided drug discovery process still needs to be improved in the future. "
