Abstract
Background: Traditional Chinese medicine is a complementary therapy based on the principles of holistic and systematic approach. Among them, the Sweet Dream series of drugs have been clinically proven to have good therapeutic effects on mental illnesses such as insomnia, depression, and anxiety. But in the process of converting clinical trial data into evidence, researchers will avoid unfavorable literature. The proposal of citation research can reduce resource waste and shorten research time, analyse the advantages and disadvantages of this drug in the treatment process, make the research results more easily accepted and promoted, provide new ideas for subsequent research, and enhance the recognition of traditional Chinese medicine.
Objective :To explore the indications of Sweet Dreams Oral Liquid through bibliometric methods and evidence-based medicine research methods. To assess the quality of the literature and provide a reference for modern clinical practice.
Methods: Clinical literature related to Sweet Dreams Oral Liquid included in China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, VIP, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Cochrane Library, PubMed and Embase database was searched until February,2024. According to Selection criteria, literature that met the criteria was included. ROB 2.0 was used to assess the methodological quality.
Results:68 articles were ultimately included. There were 12 conditions in total and the three most common were sleep disorders, depression and anxiety, in that order.
Conclusions: The Sweet Dreams Oral Liquid has a wide range of indications and relatively concentrated indications. Compared with general treatment, it can effectively alleviate diseases such as sleep disorders, depression, and anxiety, while also effectively reducing the incidence of adverse reactions. The quality of research literature is low, and the risk of bias is high. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct high-quality clinical studies to explore the true efficacy and safety evidence of Sweet Dream Oral Liquid, while strengthening the rigour and standardization of research design, implementation, and reporting.
