Abstract
"Background: Health Risk Management (HRM) includes disease risk assessment and health guidance. It is widely used to assess the disease risk of participates, and make personalized health management plans to comprehensively manage the risk factors of the managed objects in developed country. The actual awareness and willingness of HRM in Chinese, however, remains uncertain.
Objectives: To investigate the awareness of and willingness to use HRM in Chinese and analyze the related factors.
Methods: After revising and finalizing the self-made questionnaire after soliciting the opinions of experts, the questionnaire was distributed on site in Chinese from November to December 2023. Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression were used for statistical analysis.
Results: A total of 416 questionnaires were collected, and 412 responded. The average age of respondents was about 37 years. The public awareness rate of the HRM program was 43%, and the willingness rate was about 70%. The awareness rate of HRM was related to the willingness rate of disease risk assessment, but not to the willingness rate of health guidance. The awareness rate of HRM was associated with profession and self-health concern. The willingness rate of HRM was related to education, profession, personal monthly income and self-health concern.
Conclusion: The study indicates that although the public awareness rate of HRM is not very high, most of the public have a high willingness to use it. This research can provide suggestions and basis for subsequent HRM development in China according to different influencing factors. More larger sample sizes studies targeted to various type people are warranted.
