Abstract
Background: The Academic League of Evidence-Based Medicine (LEBM) of Escola Paulista de Medicina was founded on August 7, 2013, and emerged as a pioneering force in evidence-based medicine (EBM) education, becoming the first academic league of its kind in Brazil. Over the past decade, LEBM has played a crucial role in facilitating teaching, research, and extension activities, significantly contributing to the academic and professional growth of EBM in Latin America.

Objectives: The primary objective of this study is to provide an overview of the achievements and contributions of LEBM during its 10-year existence. By unraveling the league's journey, we aim to highlight its impact on medical education, evidence-based practice, and patient care.

Methods: A comprehensive review and analysis of the activities, initiatives, and accomplishments of LEBM over its 10 years of existence was conducted.

Results: Throughout the league's existence, over 80 students participated, resulting in the publication of more than 30 articles, the organization of 10 short-duration courses, the translation of 32 review abstracts from Cochrane Brazil, and 5 participations in the Cochrane Colloquium. LEBM established a Collaborative initiative with Oxford-Brazil EBM Alliance, developing a free EBM course for 50 medical students from El Salvador, with a series of 8 online debates weekly between July and September 2020. Furthermore, a collaborative initiative was formed with Choosing Wisely, alongside the STARS project, aimed at training selected students to serve as leaders in disseminating EBM among medical students. The league is also responsible for updating a blog to disseminate knowledge on EBM. LEBM's activities include weekly face-to-face meetings with assignments that involve practical clinical scenario simulations and critical appraisal of the literature.

Conclusions: The Academic League of Evidence-Based Health's 10-year journey represents a decade of excellence in fostering a culture of evidence-based practice and shaping the future of healthcare delivery by promoting the use of the best available evidence.

Importance to Patients: Through its educational initiatives, the league empowers healthcare professionals to make informed decisions, leading to better patient outcomes and improved quality of care across healthcare settings, not only in São Paulo, Brazil, but also by disseminating knowledge to other nations.
