Abstract
Objectives:

• To introduce participants to a virtual platform used for Cochrane webinars;

• To build capacity amongst Cochrane contributors to prepare and present successful webinars; and

• To share strategies for engaging webinar participants.

Description:

Through support from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) and The Cochrane Collaboration, Cochrane Canada and other Cochrane groups have access to aweb-conferencing platform for onlinewebinars. These webinars build capacity for systematic reviews internationally, inclusively and at low cost. Participants can attend and interact in real time or can access online recordings (http://ccnc.cochrane.org/ cochrane-canada-live-webinar-archive). Webinars provide learning opportunities for a variety of Cochrane stakeholders, including those who cannot attend face-to-face workshops because of geographic or financial limitations. Moreover, they cover topics from heterogeneity to equity, knowledge translation to searching. This workshop will combine presentations, hands-on work, and group discussion to introduce the platform software. We will share tips for successful webinars. We will explore strategies for engaging webinar participants and enhancing their learning experience. Please note that computers will not be provided in this workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops, and wifi internet access will be available. Those without laptops will be able to watch along with the demonstration.
