Abstract
Objectives: To develop a list of characteristics of 'quality' research and research reports from a consumer viewpoint which could inform Cochrane reviews.

Summary: The participants at this workshop will initially brainstorm indicators of quality research, beginning with the issue of indicators of informed consent. Other issues as developed by the workshop participants will be added. In the second part of the workshop the participants will:


- develop a draft document of material which might be considered for inclusion in the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions;

- consider strategies for having this material considered by appropriate bodies within The Cochrane Collaboration.

Level of knowledge required to attend: basic/intermediate/advanced.
