Abstract
Background: More and more diagnostic accuracy studies (DAS) from China have been published in Chinese Journals which is very important for the quality of systematic reviews, However the quality of these studies are unknown.

Objective: To investigate the number, coverage and quality of DAS in 10 journals indexed in MEDLINE and published by Chinese Medical Association (CMA).

Methods: A total of 10 kinds of Chinese journals indexed in MEDLINE with the top ten IF journals by CMA journals were selected. Articles on diagnostic accuracy studies in 2010 were identified with validated search strategy in MEDLINE. Articles published in CMA journals with impact factor of 0.63 or higher were selected. Two reviewers independently evaluated quality of reporting of DAS by using QUADAS, which consists of 14 items.

Results: A total of 586 DAS were identified finally in top 10 Chinese journals. Included quality Evaluation of the number is 10. The coverage of disease mainly in pediatric disease 1 (10%), kidney disease 1 (10%), liver disease 2 (20%), respiratory disease 4 (40%), cardiovascular disease 2 (20%). The reporting quality of DAS was poor. The details were described in Table 1.

Conclusion: There is a growing increasing number of DAS published in Chinese journals. However their reporting quality needs to improved in future research.
