Objectives: To provide regular users with a general overview of the interface, features and functionality of the Cochrane Library and a review of recent enhancements.

Description: This workshop is designed for regular searchers of the Cochrane Library produced by Wiley, and available at www.cochranelibrary.com. It will provide a general overview of the interface, features and functionality, as well as a review of recent and upcoming enhancements to the Cochrane Library. The workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the Cochrane Library search engine options including Boolean and proximity operators, Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), creating and maintaining search strategies, citation export and alerting services. Users will also gain experience in using reference linking via CrossRef and PubMed - an initiative to enable users to click on a reference in the Cochrane Library and be taken directly to the cited material. Participants are welcome to bring their laptops to follow along with the examples online during the session.
