Abstract
Objectives: To:
1. review the ideas contributed about consumer involvement in Cochrane;
2. seek the views of workshop participants about the importance and role of consumers in Cochrane, and to draft a statement of principles.

Description: The 2015 Cochrane Consumers Structure and Function Review evaluated how well the network functions and structures support the strategic goals of Cochrane, as outlined in Strategy to 2020.This formed the first priority in the Cochrane Consumer Delivery Plan, which is to develop and adopt a statement of principles about consumer involvement in Cochrane.

During 2016 a task group will stimulate debate in a series of blogs, Twitter chats, webinars and online polls that will capture views from inside and outside the organisation relating to consumer involvement in Cochrane. These debates will contribute to co-production of a draft statement of principles.

This workshop will:
1. provide an overview of the debate to date and invite further discussion;
2. use interactive methods to explore and comment on ideas generated by the consultation undertaken so far, to identify any gaps, suggest priorities for inclusion and draft a statement of principles about consumer involvement in Cochrane.

The output from this workshop will be a draft statement of principles about consumer involvement in Cochrane for consultation with the wider Cochrane community and for subsequent adoption by the organisation.
