Abstract
Background:
As part of the Linked Data Project we started to annotate systematic reviews on child and maternal health for the Gates Foundation. Since the completion of that project, we have been working with Cochrane Review Groups (CRGs) to annotate all other Cochrane systematic reviews to enhance visibility and flexibility of the content in the Cochrane Library.
The PICO annotation task is now part of the review production workflow and, therefore, it is important that CRGs (or others, if applicable) are trained in the use of the annotation tools and continue to participate in discussion on the development of the Cochrane Vocabulary.
The meta-data annotated will be searchable via the PICOfinder on the Cochrane Library. The search outputs will be more specific and relevant to a consumer’s search queries thus creating a more user-friendly search experience for everyone.

Objectives:
- Provide demonstration of tools and overall workflow process
- Practical use of tools
- Discussion on various issues on workflow and vocabulary selection

Description:
The workshop is for CRG staff who are experienced or new to annotation.
For the first part of the workshop a facilitator will demonstrate using the annotation tools, and participants will have the opportunity to use the tools to annotate reviews from their CRGs.
The second part will be for discussion on various issues that arise around selecting terms from the vocabulary (e.g. too many synonyms, so what term to select), and how we can decide as a community on the terms to use for morbidities, interventions and outcomes that span across multiple CRGs.
