Abstract
Background: when developing Cochrane dissemination products (for instance, blogshots, PLS, podcasts, and other products), we want to give a reasonably complete, nuanced, and unbiased representation of the evidence. In addition, we want to present the evidence in a way that people with or without research experience find useful, can access and understand, and want to read. As part of Cochrane’s Knowledge Translation strategy, we have identified a set of core principles for dissemination. We have also developed a checklist that can help producers of dissemination products follow these principles. The core principles and checklist have been developed through literature review, feedback from an advisory group, and user testing among Cochrane contributors.
Objectives: to introduce the 'Core principles for dissemination checklist'.
Description: 1) presentation of the 'Core principles for dissemination checklist' and the process behind its development; 2) practical exercises where participants are given examples of existing dissemination products and the reviews these products are based on and asked to apply the checklist to one or more of these products, editing the product(s) in response to any limitations identified; 3) discussion and feedback.
