Abstract
Objectives:
1)Explain the meaning of Social Intervention Assessment (SIA), its use by other social care decision-makers, and potential to add value (including examples of where SIA has informed decision-making).
2)Present INSIA (the International Network for Social Intervention Assessment), its purpose, and its history to date, as well as the reasons for this new international collaboration.
3)Discuss what needs to be done in the SIA community to improve the use of SIA evidence in decision-making at a local level.
This session will provide participants with new understandings of SIA and its evidence as well as an understanding of how international collaboration can contribute to the development and use of SIA more effectively in the future.

Description:
After a Swedish initiative that started in 2019 and following a few years of planning and preparations, the International Network for Social Intervention Assessment (INSIA) was officially established in November 2023. Like Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in the field of health care, SIA in the field of social care focuses on evidence that arises from robust methodologies and can be critically appraised.
INSIA offers a platform for organizations who assess or use interventions in the social field to learn from each other, share their experiences, and collaborate in areas of mutual interest. With growing interest in the reuse of others’ work and decreasing duplication of work, several organizations have come together to form INSIA. Presently, it has 8 member organizations from Québec, Canada; Denmark; England; France; India; Norway; Sweden; and Wales.

Activities/interaction plans:
This session will bring together INSIA member organizations and other participants to explore how international collaboration and this network can contribute to promote the use of SIA and SIA evidence. The session provides an opportunity not only to meet representatives of INSIA member organizations and hear them present the network and its work but also to ask questions, propose future activities, and build new relations.
