Abstract
Background: An important aspect of RCTs is using and reporting of appropriate methodology so that we can have confidence in study findings as a basis for decision-making. There are no studies to assess the methodological and reporting quality of RCTs in social work.
Objective: The aim of the study is to compare the methodological and reporting quality of RCTs in social work.
Method: We will systematically search the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), the Campbell systematic review journals on the Wiley Online Library website, and the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) Development Evidence Portal to identify relevant studies. And we will use the CONSORT (Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials) Statemen to assess the reporting quality and use the Cochrane risk of bias 2.0 to assess the methodological quality of RCTs in social work. Data collection and analysis will be performed in Microsoft Excel 2010 (http://office.microsoft.com/zh-cn). Descriptive summary statistics (frequency, median, and interquartile range (IQR)) will be calculated for each of the general and methodological items specified.
Result and Conclusion: This study is ongoing, and results will be presented at Colloquium as available.
