Abstract
Background: Cochrane podcasts are published with each issue, and with each issue, we provide some statistics for podcast authors regarding how many ‘hits’ their podcast has generated. Objectives: To highlight the dissemination of podcasts around the world, and to analyse who is listening to the podcasts from The Cochrane Library. Methods: Usage reports will be used to identify key topic areas and parts of the world where the podcasts are most popular. Results: Podcasts are a phenomenal success for the Cochrane Collaboration and The Cochrane Library. Sharing the results of the first full year of publication should encourage more usage and more listeners. Conclusions: Cochrane podcasts have been a huge success in 2008, and this should continue further in 2009. By sharing the information and statistics obtained throughout 2008, we hope that more authors will include podcasts when submitting their reviews for publication.
