Abstract
Objectives: To present the results of applying new guidelines for improving the drafting of research recommendations in the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group's reviews.
Summary: Decisions about funding new research studies are increasingly being informed by the research recommendations made in Cochrane and other systematic reviews. Sometimes the content of the 'Implications for research' sections in Cochrane reviews is specific; sometimes it is non-specific. This is one of two linked workshops. The other workshop (W11] The need to improve 'Implications for research' sections in Cochrane reviews) reviews the current content of 'Implications for research' sections in Cochrane reviews, and presents guidelines for improving these sections. At this workshop, the experience of applying the guidelines in the reviews published by the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group will be described, followed by a discussion of this pilot experience and how it can inform future efforts by the Collaboration to be more helpful to commissioners of new research.
Level of knowledge required to attend: intermediate/advanced.
