Abstract
Conclusions: The use of the template produced a significant improvement in the quality of reporting. The main weakness still there is assessment of publication bias; also some reviews still have too broad objectives. The main improvement occurred in the methods of quality assessment of primary studies. This study identifies areas where further improvement is necessary and others where more investigation is required, such as the use of quality assessment of primary studies in the review.
